Welcome to SimShare! This site is dedicated to learning using simulation and is for those who are simulation enthusiasts like myself.
What is simulation? A form of experiential learning that has the potential to be transformative for learners. In healthcare professional education, simulation is essential for patient safety.
I want to engage others to become simulation enthusiasts, to create a community of practice as defined by Etienne and Beverly Wenger-Trayner, (2015) – “Communities of practice are groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.”
Here you will find learning activities focused on facilitation and debriefing, learning-centered approaches, and evidence-informed practices related to simulation. I will also use this site to curate resources I love and that I hope you will love too. I hope we can collaborate and learn from one another.
The Basic Assumption is a core value in learning using simulation:
We believe that everyone participating in simulation activities is intelligent, capable, cares about doing their best, and wants to improve©
